Global LED giant GE release single plant

When the LED lighting market hits the spotlight, Xu Zhusheng, Taiwan's GE chief executive and vice president of Greater China, announced that GE believes that Taiwan's LED light bulbs have a lot of room for growth and was released for the first time this year. OEM orders for LED bulbs are given to Taiwanese manufacturers. It is expected that the partners will be finalized in the third quarter as soon as possible, and the market will estimate at least millions of OEMs.

Xu Zhusheng said that in the early days, he may first find 1 or 2 OEMs to produce GE brand LED bulbs, mainly in the Taiwan market. If he performs well, he can also expand into the export market.

He pointed out that GE’s global revenue last year was US$147 billion, which was equivalent to the US$45.7 billion portion of GE Finance. The rest are industrial products such as energy, healthcare, aviation, lighting, home and business solutions, and transportation. In terms of regions, the United States received revenue of 70 billion U.S. dollars last year, more than half came from overseas, and 23 billion U.S. dollars were in the Asia-Pacific region including Taiwan. GE’s current global orders for 200 billion U.S. dollars were not yet delivered.

Xu Zhusheng stated that GE's operations this year will be based on Aerospace, Energy and Healthcare. In the Aerospace segment, Evergreen purchased three Boeing 777-300 aircraft in May using GE engines, while the other four aircraft were leased to GE Financial. More than half of the engines in the China Airlines fleet use GE. In terms of Aerospace, GE is also similar to Taiwan's Hanxiang's purchase of aircraft engine casings, as well as Evergreen Group's production of super alloy steel sheets.

Xu Zhusheng pointed out that GE has cooperated with EPC companies such as Jixing Engineering, Zhongding Engineering, Zhongxing Electric, and Taiyuan Heavy Industry to strengthen and clean energy, and Zhongding not only undertakes power plant projects in Taiwan, but also builds power plants and heavy machinery in the Middle East. Build a power plant in the Philippines.

In terms of smart grids and electricity meters, Taiwan currently has 12 million conventional meters, two-thirds of which are built by Zhongxing Electric, and technology is transferred by GE; one third is built by Datong. Taipower currently plans to build 12 million electric meters and convert it to 8.5 million smart meters. GE and Zhongxing Electric will work together to develop smart high-voltage and low-voltage electric meters and participate in the construction of Taipower Zhihui meters.

GE is one of the three major manufacturers of global lighting. Although it is slower than Philips and OSRAM in the layout of LED bulbs, its global brand value strength cannot be underestimated when lighting enters the LED era. For the first time this year, OEM orders for LED bulbs were released at the station.
